Neighbors protecting neighbors. For generations, our dedicated volunteers have stood watch over Marion and the surrounding communities — ready to respond, ready to serve.
The Sprott Volunteer Fire Department has been a cornerstone of public safety in Marion County for countless years. Our department is made up entirely of community members — farmers, teachers, tradespeople, and families — who answer the call when emergencies strike.
Located along Highway 183, we provide fire suppression, emergency medical response, and disaster relief to the Sprott community and surrounding areas. Every call we answer is a promise kept to the people who live, work, and raise their families in this region.
From structure fires to medical emergencies, our trained volunteers are equipped and prepared to protect Marion County around the clock.
Full structural and wildland fire response for residential, commercial, and rural properties throughout Marion County and surrounding areas.
Immediate on-scene emergency medical care by trained volunteer responders while coordinating with regional ambulance services for transport.
Vehicle extrication, search and rescue operations, and disaster relief support during severe weather events and natural emergencies.
Community safety workshops, fire drill coordination, and educational outreach to help Marion County residents prevent fires and stay prepared.

Participation in local parades, public safety events, and collaborative partnerships with Marion County agencies to strengthen community resilience.
Sprott is more than a location on a map — it is a living, breathing community where everyone knows their neighbor. That is exactly why the Sprott Volunteer Fire Department exists: because the people who live here deserve to feel safe in their own homes.
Our volunteers do not receive a salary for the risk and effort they invest. They answer calls after their day jobs, train on weekends, and stand ready through the night — all because they believe in protecting the community that raised them.
